Dear Friends of Peace and Impeachment,

While I was pondering whether to send out this impeachment petition once again to all of you, I had a vision of a Congress so under threat that it was unable to respond to constituents' calls for acting on impeachment (and by implication, the Iraq war).  This image was strengthened by the information in the video link below, wherein a witness recounts what his Congressman gave as his reason for refusing to follow his constituents' requests for impeachment, even though he was made fully aware of them at a townhall meeting.  Congress apparently has been threatened with aerial bombardment of Iran if they dare to touch the impeachment issue. This could explain the title of the "non-impeachment" hearing and their subsequent inaction.

Where does this leave us?  Ask yourself how you would like your children and grandchildren to remember you when they asked why you didn't stand up before it was too late and do something.  "We have done something", you say?  Yes, I believe we have.  I also believe many of our friends and relatives and their friends and relatives have not.  Perhaps we can find at least one more person each to sign Dennis Kucinich's petition and go on record for posterity as demanding impeachment for what this outrageous administration has done in our name.  All names of those who sign his petition are being entered into the Congressional Record.  He has just over 100,000 signatures now.  What if, before Congress convenes in September, he had 200,000 or even 300,000?

It might not bring about impeachment under the foreseeable timeline, but you can point to the Congressional Record when you look back on your life and are asked "What did you do?"  These upcoming elections are meaningless if this administration's actions are allowed to go forward without rebuke by the American people.  The precedent will have been set.  Please find a few more friends to join you in signing this petition to impeach.  Only the people can give Congress the strength to do the right thing.

Thank you for all your wonderful efforts and energy!

PS:Check out this video.  You will understand more.

We did it!

Dear Friends,
Last week, Congressman Dennis Kucinich delivered a petition bearing more than 100,000 names to the Speaker of the House urging that impeachment proceedings begin into the conduct of President Bush. In a special video message, Dennis is asking for your help to deliver an even more powerful message to Congress when it reconvenes in September.
With new disclosures that the Administration tried to "cook the books at the CIA" by creating a phony, forged link between Al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein, "We cannot step back and let this President escape accountability."
If you have already signed the impeachment petition at www.kucinich.us, thank you. If you haven't, please do. And, in the next few weeks, please ask just one more person to sign so we can let the members of Congress hear our collective demand that they meet their obligation to uphold the Constitution.
Sign the petitionThank you.
The Re-Elect Congressman Kucinich Committee
